About
A successful General Meeting was conducted by the founding members of the Corporation on Saturday April 26, 2014 at the Greek Orthodox Church in Greensboro. The agenda of this meeting was the consideration of the draft Bylaws of the Corporation for Citizens of Ethiopian and Eritrean origin, people who relate to Ethiopians and Eritreans by marriage or adoption, and Ethiopians and Eritreans who reside legally in the Piedmont triad of North Carolina. After lively discussion on the topic, the draft Bylaws of the Corporation was adopted unanimously by those who attended the general meeting. The 5 members of the drafting committee were unanimously approved to work as founding members of the Board of Directors.

Objective and Purpose
The Objective and purposes of Tegagez Funeral and Burial Assistance Corporation shall be the following:
a. Collect contributions and donations from members
b. Disburse funds to members or their families to assist carry out funeral, burial and related ceremonies in the event of the death of a member or a family member of a member. For the purpose of these Bylaws, the term “family member” includes: Member’s spouse, dependent parents of members with no employment or any other income from any source, children and other full dependents under the age of 22 who legally reside under the same roof.
c. Financially assist those members and family members of the member in case of terminal illness in accordance to the terms of the Bylaws.
d. Give moral support and service to the bereaved whenever possible by assigning members to assist the household in the ritual ceremonies related to the death of a member or the family member of a member.
e. Plan and organize fund raising events for the above causes.
