Our Mission

Our mission is to unite individuals of Ethiopian and Eritrean heritage in the greater Triad area to provide compassionate support to those grieving the loss of a loved one. Through enrollment and collective financial contributions, we aim to help cover funeral expenses and ease the burden during this challenging time.

It is our intention to bring together our community to share the burden during this difficult time.

Just as no two people are alike, no two funerals are alike. A funeral is a most personal event, celebrating the lifespan of an individual. The wishes of the deceased must be honored, as well as any family preferences.

Anticipating the death of a loved one is a stressful time commonly filled with anxiety and sadness. If you are aware your loved one is reaching the end of their life, your grieving may have already begun.

The truth is, it is not possible to fully prepare yourself for the experience of losing a loved one, but it is possible to plan for this painful time in your life. It's important to remember that grieving is a healthy part of life and will help you find closure. Losing a loved one may not be easy, but being there to comfort them and reminisce over the positive memories can help you feel connected.

Your loved one may also wish to be involved in planning his or her funeral or memorial services. This may seem premature to you, but we have found through helping families that many individuals whose death is imminent want the rituals that will follow their deaths to reflect the values and wishes they believe have characterized their lives.
